What is the school year schedule in Rwanda?
The school year in Rwanda follows the calendar year. The basic schedule has the first trimester beginning towards the end of January and finishing by the beginning of April (when there is a national holiday and Week of Remembrance, to commemorate the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi). By mid-April, the students return to school to begin the second trimester which is several weeks longer than the first and finishes at the end of July. In mid-August, the students start the third trimester which goes until mid-November with national exams (for P-6, S-3, and S-6) occurring after that.
