Why are some students more than 20 years old and in secondary school?

Some of our students may not have started primary school at the age of 7 (as expected in the government guidelines). Or, they may have started at that age, but at some point through the years, they did not score well in exams and were required to repeat a year (or more) of a specific grade. Or, if the family (prior to being sponsored by Urugo Care Rwanda) did not have the funds to pay for school fees, the student may have had to skip a year (or more) of school and be delayed in finishing until an older age. We are proud of our students who are older and motivated to complete their schooling no matter their age.
